When Ruth Matthews's husband is killed in a fall at one archaeological dig, her daughter Sally handles her originator's death in a very eccentric manner. As Sally's condition worsens, Ruth takes her to escort Jake, an expert in childhood autism. Jake attempts to convey Sally out of her mental disorder through traditional therapy methods, but Ruth takes a separate route.
